Where is Kitchen

Amy asked where are the new pictures of the kitchen. There are no new pictures. Yet. I will take pictures as soon as the electricians (there are two of them) and Adam the contractor are done tinkering with the pendants and so forth. I really feel like I'm in the way when they are here working. Although it's nice that I have the POWER!!! YES, the POWER!!! I get to say that the pendant is hung just so above the island and the those pendants need to be just so above the sink. Oh, also can we get more shelving in the pantry cabinet so that my tomato cans can be stacked just so.

Love the POWER!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day. Instead of sleeping in as my usual, traditional way of celebrating, I was up. Up because my allergies were acting up and the benadryl stopped being potent. Oh, what should we do? Golf was the answer. I just started my first lesson last week and had to (of course, I had to) practice. Colin packed his golf bag, mine and Lauren's and we were off. Tummies grumbling we headed to Target near the gold course for breakfast. Heh? Target? This particular Target had Starbucks inside. INSIDE? How great is that? A venti decaf latte skinny, please. Oh, throw in that Cinnamon roll, too! Satiated, we attacked the driving range. I realized there and then that Lauren is sooo much better than me. Sigh. Need more lessons.

Happy Mom's Day!

Bobbing

Lauren's troop went white water rafting today (up to Class 3). We the parents thought it would give them character, an adventure, and a challenge. I think we the parents voted for this so that WE THE PARENTS can go white water rafting.

So off we went on a bright and semi-early Sunday morning to go west to Charlemont. Two hours later, (a large cup of coffee and a couple of donut holes for me) and two-thirds through Phantom of the Opera DVD, we were there. We were given our gear: a stylish wet suit, equally smashing boots and voluminous blue waterproof shell (which in fact is not so waterproof if you actually get IN the water).

Lauren volunteered for us to go in the front of the raft (to better see and feel the waves as it slop onto us). She also opted to go "swimming" which is more like bobbing in the water due to PFD (personal floating device). I in turn also went bobbing because I figured if I don't I will always wonder the "what if". Well, the "what if" was bracingly cold but fun. So I'm glad I did it once. Lauren, however, could not get enough so she went bobbing countless of times along with her two raft-mates.

All in all, Lauren had fun and I the parent did as well.
