Cool Blues

Colin and I headed to Harvard Square. We were invited to my good friend Sheryl's birthday party at Club Passim. Her husband Ken arranged for her favorite acoustic blues guitarist to give a private concert for this special occasion. Geoff Achison, hailing from Melbourne, Australia, was by chance in Atlanta and amazed us with his music. (I'm listening to his CD as I type. Too cool.) It was a great night of music, friends and great food. Happy Birthday, Sheryl

Toronto

We took a road trip. Yes, drove the minivan. (How suburban is that?)

Drove out Monday afternoon through Vermont. But, of course, we had to make a stop. Where, you ask. Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, of course. Lauren had Chocolate Therapy, Oreos and Coffee ice cream. Emma had Chocolate Therapy, Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Yum.

After the deserved break, we headed to Montreal. We stayed overnight in Old Montreal and strolled around town in the morning. We visited Notre Dame Basilica and had a fun lunch a creperie & fondue restaurant before heading west to Toronto.

In Toronto, we stayed at my Aunt Letty and Uncle John's home in Scarborough. My mom had flown in previous day. We did the most touristy thing possible. We went to CN Tower and caught a Blue Jays game at Rogers Centre.

Then we went to, yup, Niagara Falls. We took a ride on the Maid of the Mist and got damp. Then we figured we we're not wet enough so we opted for Journey Behind the Falls.

In between CN Tower and the falls, Lauren and Emma met the children of my cousins. Most of the children are their age. They had a blast playing with them.

It was wonderful to see my cousins, their husbands and children, my aunts and uncle and mom. Lauren and Emma truly want to come back.
